Wake up
My love
Never thought you'd make me, break me
Now I'm up from below
Such a brilliant star you are
And will your love keep burning baby
Burn a hole right through my eyes
All these short times feel like no time
I thought you ought to know

I'm so far gone now I been running on empty
I'm so far gone now
Do you wanna take me on?
I'm so far gone now
Do you wanna take me on?
At the edge of the city a forest that remained untouched by humans lay. The forest wasn't touched for now but day by day machines moved closer to the patch of land that could be used in developing. For now the forest was just used for creatures of all kinds. Small creatures, medium creatures, and in the rare occasion large creatures. The small creatures included squirrels, mice, rats, cats, rabbits, birds of all species, and small dogs. The medium creatures included foxes, large rodents, bear cubs, and medium dogs. The large creatures included wolves, bears, deer, perhaps a moose, and large dogs. What all groups had in common were dogs.
The forest was a normal forest complete with trees, animals, and the ever chirping birds. What wasn't so normal for forests was the pool of water that was in there...somewhere. For a small brook that had emptied overtime in the forest had created a marsh like area. The area had eroded and had made various perching areas and a nice swimming hole. This place would probably become the expanded lake for a community soon however. Though the pool was a common area to swim on the hot days of summer and spring. Though in winter it was a disaster zone.
Some animals likes it cold and some like it hot. Though any animal would be crazy to take a dip in the icy waters of a swimming hole. This animal however wasn't crazy. For this animal liked it cold. This animal is a large creature, a large dog. This large dog is a female and goes by the breed name of Borzoi. This female Borzoi dog goes by the direct name of Helena. And this female dog or Bitch has just gone for a dip in the icy waters of the swimming hole. How could you tell? You can't. But by looking her chest, front legs, face, underbelly, and legs you can tell they are all muddy.
True, the rest of her is not wet. Looks can be deceiving. For Helena enjoys being fluffy and so lays out to dry and sleep after a swim. Which means that the water that had dripped off of her has gone onto the rock which has dry mud on it. The mud became wet and got her muddy. Therefore the mystery is solved and the bitch can go on her way. This bitch isn't exactly looking to go on her way though. For leaving the shelter of the forest meant leaving safety from being caught by humans. Though she conflicted with herself and decided to leave the forest and into the city.
This bitch had two things in mind and those two things included a male and a home. First she wanted a shelter to sleep in tonight. And second she wanted to get pregnant so she could bear pups. Strange for her to want to bear pups but it is her desire. She loves pups and is a pup herself but is able and ready to have pups. Being so young and wanting to have pups was usually frowned on with her peers but she didn't care. It is her life to ruin and create and nobody would stop her. So through the forest she went toward the city to find a shelter and a male.
Helena finally reached the edge of the forest and saw a rode ahead of her. Cars whizzed past her and often honked at her. She decided to follow the traffic and hopefully edge near the city. Helena saw the bright lights of the city and new this was the right direction and so more confidently she padded onward. The sun was setting behind her and already the skylights of the city shown in the sunless sky. She gazed on with excitement and nervousness. Helena began to question herself about if she was sure and if she should do this. All the questions in her head were answered, 'yes'.
As the city loomed closer to the padding borzoi her eyes tightened to get used to the light. The mud on her body was hardened to a crusty mud and weighed her down a bit but she fought with the extra weight. Helena did not know how long she had traveled but guessed it was more than nine miles since the forest. When she reached the first buildings of the city her limbs were a little tired. As she gazed at all the people on the sides of the rode her heart jumped. There were so many people and only one of her.
What if they attacked her? What if they took her back to her mother and father? What if they had her siblings? Her siblings. The thought of them made the young female's head droop. She missed them so much. They had ran away together. For they were afraid of being separated but yet they were right now. Her legs kicked into her mind with a sharp pain. It was time to find a place to rest. She whined at every approaching human but did not growl at them. She could not growl at them is was against what she was taught. In these streets however it seemed that only the strong survived.
She had only seen two dogs since she arrived here and they were fighting in an alley. They had stopped as soon as they saw her though and chased her. Helena guessed it was her heat scent and ran away from them. They kept chasing her and then all of a sudden disappeared. She gave it a rest and slipped into a rather dark alley. She smelt other dogs mostly males and thought she saw a shadow in the dim light but when she looked again saw nothing. This place of town seemed more dangerous and quiet. Helena did not know of where she was and didn't care really for this was a resting place for her.
The place had overturned boxes and trash cans full of food. Anything could be hiding in this place and she wouldn't even know it. Shivering she lay near the entrance of the alley. Helena rested her head on her dried muddy paws. Her eyes ever watchful of any danger or anything that bumped in the night. Another flicker of movement caught her eyes and she focused on where that movement went. Not getting anywhere being silent she decided to speak to whatever was out there. Taking a fresh gulp of stench filled air she spoke quietly,
" Hello? "
Do, Do you, Do you know?
Do you know how long I've waited?
To look up from below,
Just to find someone like you?
And will your love light burn me baby?
Burn a hole right through my heart
I think I might just trust you, maybe
But I'm not sure
I'm not sure I wanna know
